Background: As we proceed wih this project there are a number of articles and photographs already present here. We will add links to a few of them as sort of background and go from there with the altering of the West End by the first phase of the freeway project.

The beginning of construction.
Ohio Route 7, 8th Street. The gas station shown here would be bought by the State and demolished. In the background you can see that the buying of property and tearing down of homes was already well underway between W 7th Street and W 6th Streets in this 1960 photograph. Also the construction of the bases for the overpass and cloverleaf that was to be located here is underway.
In the picture above up on the hill and to the right of the pottery, the building with the columns, is the lone surviving building of the original City Hospital. That building too would be torn down. A few remaining empty houses that haven't been torn down yet stand a reminder this was a neighborhood that people lived in just a short time before.

The Sewage Disposal Plant would remain but the building to the left of it in this picture would be demolished.
Preparations almost complete. The junk yard present in this picture would soon be gone along with the house that you can see the roof of so clearly beside the Newell Bridge and the alteration of the West end will be complete, ready to have it's new appearance constructed.

Legally speaking framing is still in a murky area of the law though there have been court cases in which framing has been seen as violation of copyright law. The East Liverpool Historical Society pays fees to keep their site online. A person framing the Society site is effectively presenting the entire East Liverpool Historical Society web site as his own site and doing it at no cost to himself, i.e. stealing the site.
